A change in plans

We came home from the desert. And we were so exhausted from our week of constant fun that we completely fizzled out on New Years. Like, sit around the house staring at each other, is it midnight yet so I can go to sleep fizzled out. But 8 pm was pretty hip hop happening.

When we got back from the desert and after New Years, the plan was to jump in the car and drive back to Roseburg. Then, a week later, I was planning on loading up the twins, and driving solo to Utah to see my parents come home from their mission. But instead, Kyle got on a plane home, and I decided to stay an extra week, and then just drive directly from California to Utah and save myself a drive.

So we spent the week going to the pool or the beach everyday. It was tiring and awesome and my kids never slept better.

One night we even drove an hour to get to the nearest Cafe Rio.

Beach day- Joslyn playing in the mud.

Here she is loving the birds. She's always been obsessed with birds, ever since she was SUPER young.

Kate was getting buried in the sun and Joslyn was NOT about to be left out of that.

I found a little hole along the beach that had a bunch of sand dollars in them! I thought it was so lucky. I used to search for them in high school when we'd go to Mazatlan and never found a one!

I got to take Josi shopping one day. We weren't too productive but she discovered a fun place to hide in stores. And the silver manaquin straight up freaked her out.

And here are just the last few random pictures from the desert that I didn't mean to leave out.

Toni winning auntie of the year. She did this same move up this huge steep hill on the snowy mountain. Pretty impressive.
