Immobile

I've been wanting to write about Joslyn for awhile. And today I have a sad reason to. Yesterday we were at Jason & KaeLynns and Joslyn (according to the 4 and 6 year olds present) fell off the bottom bunk of a bed (it's like a one foot drop), and "landed on a pillow that had toys underneath it." Jason brought her to me and I snuggled her and laid her down for a nap. Well, an hour later she woke up, and when I went to stand her up, she wouldn't put any pressure on her right leg.

Now, my baby Joslyn is TOUGH. She rumbles and tumbles and barely blinks an eye. We've been staying at Cali's and she has one of those tall beds, and all week Joslyn has been sliding down her bed and dropping the last few feet to run off and play. I couldn't believe she hurt herself on such a small fall.

So for the first time in my life, I took my baby to an instacare. I was suppose to go with Jason's group and my parents to their kids dance recital, so they took the twins so it was just Josi and I. She kept whimpering, but besides that she was in good spirits. When it was time for the xrays she cried the whole time but held still as mouse. Then she'd wave goodbye and smile when she thought the mean doctors were done with her.

I'm suppose to take her to a sports medicine practice on Monday for them to look at it and POSSIBLY have her leg casted from thigh to ankle!! They didn't necessarily see a break but there was something "abnormal" with the knee and they want to take pressure off of it. Unless, he said, this weekend she's back to running around and acting normal. They wrapped her up with an ace bandage and sent us home.

So Dad and Jason gave her a blessing last night and she slept great through the night. But this morning when she went to stand up, her leg kind of buckled beneath her and she kept whimpering "owww." It's made me super sad. I wish Kyle was here. Or that we were just home so we could deal with it together. We'll see what the doctor says hopefully tomorrow or the next day. In the meanwhile she's just been sitting on my lap all day. Still pretty happy, but very immobile.

She has strong opinions about what she wants to be doing so it's hard that she can't move around for herself. It's making me oh so sad.

Oh and we've skyped Kyle twice since we've been here, and both times Josi kissed the screen like 10 times.

ohhh poor little girl.I can relate to sick and hurt children, it just breaks your heart to see them hurt. Reece has to see a specialist and might have surgery on her stomach and that is scarey. I hope all goes well. Good luck at the Dr's

Oh poor Josi! I hate when things like that happen to our babies. It just breaks your heart. Hopefully it is nothing serious and she will be running in no time.
On a totally random sidenote...I am super curious what her xray looked like!
